THE GREAT MN GET-TOGETHER

We decided to visit the State Fair this year on Labor Day (since it was the only day neither of us was working). Izzie spent Sunday night at Papa and Grandma's house and spent the day with grandma while we went to the fair. We decided that the fair was no place for a girl who is determined to WALK EVERYWHERE she goes and boy were we glad we made that decision because it was a HOT day (91 degrees!!!)

We got the boys up early and got them dressed and arrived at the fair around 8:30am. What a great plan because there were not huge crowds everywhere and no lines (at least not until later in the day). We visited the helping hands farm thing where the kids got to pedal a tractor, feed corn to pretend chickens, milk a pretend cow, plant a seed, and much more. They really liked this activity and we will definately do that one again next year! Then it was off to the Dog building where we saw part of a dog show with GreyHounds doing tricks. The boys thought that was really cool! Then we got to go into the building and pet all the dogs (and if you know our boys they LOVE dogs!!!) After we left there we decided to get some Cini-minis (if you haven't tried these you really should-YUMMMM!) We did more walking around and visited many of the buildings including education, Eco, merchant mart, grandstand, and much more. Of course we had to go to the KidWay where the boys did some fun rides (the favorite was the bumper boats-just like it was the year before!) We asked the boys if they wanted to do the giant Trampoline but it was a unanimous NO! Maybe next year.

We enjoyed lots of yummy treats throughout the day including cotton candy, mini-doughnuts, Sweet Martha's Cookies, pronto pup and an Icee. We were going to go to the food building but by the time we got around to it we were soooo hot and the boys were so tired I thought they may fall asleep in the wagon! We did go see the Miracle Of Birth Center and the boys loved that. Jackson asked at every animals pen "so did that mommy have a baby?" He had to pet EVERY lamb and also loved petting the baby chick. All in all it was a fun filled day. We packed up the van and headed to Grandma and Papa's to get Isabel and not more than 5 minutes after we left the fair the boys were sound asleep!!!
